HSBC Local

We’re here to help either in branch or a space in local communities.

Get face-to-face support when you need it

While more and more people are happy to do their banking online, we recognise that many of you still like to do it face-to-face.

Alongside our full-service branches, we’re introducing Pop-Ups and Banking Hubs – where you’ll be able to speak to HSBC UK Branch Specialists in person. We’ve also just installed our first self-service Cash Pod – and are looking for more locations.

You can find your nearest Pop-Up, Banking Hub or Cash Pod using our branch finder.

Pop-Ups

We run a range of Pop-Up events, in locations that are convenient and familiar. This could be your local library, community centre or selected WHSmith stores.

Specialists from our branches will be there to support you with any banking queries you may have. Please be aware though, that there are no cash services available at these events. So, for example, you won't be able to make cash deposits or withdrawals.

Banking Hubs

Banking Hubs are fully accessible shared banking spaces which offer a counter service operated by the Post Office. This means you'll be able to carry out regular transactions such as deposits, cash withdrawals, or making a payment.

Our HSBC UK Branch Specialists will also be available at Banking Hubs on certain days, so that you can talk to us about any banking queries you may have.

Cash Pods

Cash Pods are new self-service units, designed to enable HSBC UK customers to withdraw cash free of charge, and deposit cash conveniently 24 hours a day.

The first machine installed is in the Crown Glass Shopping Centre, in Nailsea. The machine features internal cash recycling, reducing the frequency of refills and contributing to a more efficient banking experience for the community.

We plan to introduce more Cash Pods in the near future. The exact locations are still being finalised, but currently include retail parks, car parks and shopping centres. They'll include access to defibrillators for the community and bike racks.

A Cash Pod will also enable HSBC customers to:

  • Check their account balance.
  • Print mini-statements.
  • Activate a card and reset their PIN.
  • Make payments linked to their HSBC UK credit card.

How we can help at our Pop-Ups

We can help you in a number of ways through our Pop-Up events:

  • Get additional reassurance and guidance on any banking questions or security/fraud concerns you may have.
  • Learn how to make the most of our digital and telephone channels, including getting you set up for the first time or helping you if you’re stuck.
  • Make online payments or transfers and manage Standing Orders and Direct Debits.
  • Get information and assistance with your debit or credit card.
  • Access information about your account including checking your balance, checking a transaction or ordering a statement.
  • Open an account with us.
  • Find out more information about our products and services.

What you'll need to bring with you to a Pop-Up or Banking Hub

For certain banking services and requests, we’ll need to check your ID. Any of the following documents will do:

  • Valid full passport (temporary passports are not acceptable).
  • EEA or Swiss national identity card (excluding Romanian and Greek national identity cards).
  • Valid UK photocard driving licence (full or provisional), or old-style paper licence (full only).

Banking Hub services

HSBC UK Branch Specialists will be available at a select number of Banking Hubs so that you can speak about your more complex banking needs. They’ll be able to support you with many of the services we offer in our HSBC branches.
