You won't need to show us any documents for most title changes, but proof will be required for some. If you're changing gender, you'll need to update this information separately.

Before you start, make sure you have the required documents with you and that your details are up to date.

Doctor	Doctorate or Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery Certificate (such as an MBBS), Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, or a letter from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons confirming accreditation
Armed forces	Armed forces ID card
Documents sourced from the internet that allow individuals to change their name or buy titles, ie Lord or Lady	The document showing your new title, and an ID document showing your new title
All other titles	No document needed
