Experian mobile number update

It’s important we have your correct mobile number on record so we can keep you up to date with information about your account.

What did we do?

Your mobile number may have been shared with us by Experian. If this applies to you, you should have received an email or letter to let you know.

We’ve obtained your number in accordance with both HSBC's and Experian's privacy notices. Your telephone number was captured as part of a credit application you completed with another lender who has shared this information with Experian under their privacy notice. We won’t use this mobile number for marketing purposes unless you’ve agreed we can do so.

Why did we do this?

We need up-to-date contact details for you for a number of reasons.

These include:

  • informing you of updates to your terms and conditions
  • fulfilling regulatory obligations
  • keeping you safe when shopping online with one-time passwords
  • providing fraud help and support
  • sending overdraft and balance text alerts

We’ll only use your information as set out in our terms and conditions and Privacy Notice. We won’t use your contact details for marketing purposes unless you’ve agreed we can do so.
