Bereavement

From here you can submit a new notification. We’ll start the account closure process once we have received the deceased customer’s and your details.

We'll then give you a reference number so you can return to share more information and you won't need to submit the notification again.

You can upload a digital copy or image of these documents:

  • the death certificate
  • supporting documents
  • the funeral bill, if you'd like us to pay it on the estate's behalf
Please make sure the digital copy or image:
  • is up to 5MB
  • is a pdf, txt, jpg, jpeg, jpe, jfif, png, gif or bmp file
  • has a file name with no spaces containing any combination of a-z, A-Z, 0-9, _ . @ + ! # [ ] ( ) ~ and does not exceed 86 characters in length
If you’re a personal representative of the deceased customer, please keep your mobile phone and the following documents to hand:
  • UK driving license
  • Passport
  • National EEA/Swiss ID card

Data privacy:

Here's how we use the information you share:
  • We’ll use your personal information and that of the deceased customer to contact you and administer the deceased customer’s estate, respectively.
  • We may share your personal details with a credit reference agency to verify your address. If we need to use this data for any other related purposes, it will be in line with legal and/or regulatory requirements.
  • The digital ID process involves the derivation of facial biometrics from the selfie and ID documentation, and their use for anti-impersonation.
